The lakes thankfully now behind me
Half way round Windermere and nearing the end of the lakes… though I’m sure they’ll have a few surprises left for me.. tough 2-3 days but Ice creams and candy floss waiting for me at Morecambe bay….
There is no doubt, as the days are getting shorter and the weather is so unpredictable / mainly always raining…that its getting more critical for me to know where I’m going…and to get there early. Also when I get there to set up my tent before looking through the yellow pages for a masseur. GodContinue reading “Bike, bike, bike as fast as you can…You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!”
As the hills get steeper I keep asking myself why I bothered….
I think o said in my blog last night I didn’t mind rain and hills…. I was lying…. Have a great day and hope you do something good, great or extraordinarily…
Have a great weekend, whatever you get up to…. Oh good, you too are getting some fresh air in our beautiful countryside
Err… I thought lakes were on flat land…. The Jolly Roger in the corner is probably a warning of some sort, maybe 😉
I am meant to be camping but….b&b’s are so much nicer….The country hotel in the middle of the city, in Carlisle resembled and old Victorian faulty towers. I thought I was getting fit but struggled up the 72 threadbare stairs to my room. Well what was I expecting for £30. I was…expecting it to haveContinue reading “Fighting, Disentry and Meg”
It’s a different type of beautiful. There is no one anywhere near…. happy Thursday everyone

After a few days off seeing my boys I’m now back in the saddle and hope to be through the lakes before holding my breath through Lancashire and Merseyside. The following week I’ll be following the Welsh boarder down to the south west. Come and join me in you are near….
Slow start this morning as my tent needed to dry out and packing up in the rain is…well, wet… My plan, as ever was…I don’t bother. Actually that’s wrong. I make the choice not to plan the roads, gradient or even look at the weather in fear of rolling over and going back to sleep.Continue reading “Day 13 ….”Run, and you’ll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade ALL the days, from this day…..COVID may make it harder but it will never take… OUR FREEDOM!””
No Rocky Road available this morning so went for some Tiffin made by Hunters in Howick. Enjoying on a bridge and the road is called lovers Lane. Tiffin is very good – not sweet like many. Lovers sadly lacking, but might hang out another 10mins – you never know….
My clean white sheets are but a distant memory now as I’m back ‘wild camping’ just outside Jedburgh. You’d think following the England – Scotland border would be easy but I managed to take a few wrong turns today and didn’t get to where I needed to be till about 6.30. I left at 8am.Continue reading “Day 12 – Devolution or Higher State of Consciousness…”
